What we are learning

Hear, recognise and form the first sound in a word.

You will need: Pencil, Coloured pencils, Mirror (optional)

Warm-up

Sing the alphabet together, then play "My turn, your turn": you say a sound (s, a, t, p, i, n), the children echo it and make the letter shape in the air with a finger.

1Trace the letters

Trace each letter three times, saying its sound out loud as you go.

Say each picture word slowly. Write the letter for the very first sound.
