Warm-up

Sound-swap game: say 'cat'. Change the first sound to h — what is it now? Then change the last sound to p.

Blend and write these longer words.

2Finish the sentence

5Read and answer

Read the short story, then answer the questions.

The frog sat on a big flat rock. A crab ran past and made the frog jump. Splash! The frog fell in the pond and got a drink of cold water.

6Practise again

Blend and write five more words with blends at the start.
